Monitorimi Justice: Institutional Safeguards Overview

Informational institutional overview — not an available Assistive Center service.

These four Monitorimi versions address different monitoring needs. Features, availability and support arrangements must be confirmed for the selected device and service.

Information about authorised institutional electronic monitoring

Monitorimi Justice is presented for information only, not as an available Assistive Center service. Any future involvement would require a separate assessment of mission fit, programme eligibility, lawful authority and appropriate safeguards.

In an authorised institutional setting, electronic monitoring may support defined supervision requirements. Depending on the approved model and arrangement, a system may provide location-related information and indications of possible device interference. For example, designated personnel might review a notification concerning an authorised movement restriction under the institution’s established procedures. A notification alone does not prove misconduct and requires appropriate assessment.

Rights, safeguards and limits

This version is not intended for private surveillance, covert tracking or informal enforcement. Any proposed use would need clear responsibility for decisions, proportionate collection of information, restricted access, retention rules and a process for addressing errors and complaints. Technology cannot replace accountable professional judgement or the rights of the person concerned.

Questions institutions should assess

This overview outlines questions institutions should assess with qualified legal, operational and accessibility specialists. No police integration, institutional contract, approval or eligibility for funding is implied. Organisations should obtain appropriate advice before considering any implementation; this overview is not legal advice.
